Statement by EU HR Ashton following today's Action Group meeting on Syria

I welcome the outcome of today's Action Group meeting in Geneva. We addressed together with our international partners the dire situation in Syria, reiterated our full support for Joint Special Envoy Kofi Annan and his six point plan and for UNSMIS.  

The agreement reached today offers concrete points for action and I hope it will help bring about an end to violence and launch a political process in Syria and led by Syrians.
