
Sumario: 10 February 2012, Brussels - Commissioner for Climate Action, Connie Hedegaard will be in New York 13-14 February to attend the Global Business Summit "Business Perspective on Sustainable Growth: Preparing for Rio+20".
Commissioner Hedegaard will participate in a panel discussion - Driving green growth - with business leaders and a representative from the OECD. The summit, organised by KPMG International, in cooperation with the United Nations Environment Programme, United Nations Global Compact and the World Business Council on Sustainable Development, will address sustainable business growth in a resource-constrained world. The outcomes of the Summit will be shared with the Rio+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development, which will take place in Brazil from 20 to 22 June.
In the margins of the summit, Commissioner Hedegaard will also meet the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, and the President of the UN General Assembly, Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser. She will also have bilateral meetings with representatives from the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) and the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) among others.
